The Minister of irrigation and civil supplies N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the National Office for the Security of the Dam (NDSA) on the Kaleshwaam project was the direct accusation of the previous BRS government and revealed serious shortcomings in its proposal, construction and maintenance.
On Friday, he spoke to Mediaperons on the bharat Summit dormitory, said, “BRS leaders should be ashamed. NDSA report clearly states that the design was defective, the construction was defective, the operation and maintenance was defective.
He emphasized the findings of the report and pointed out that the phenomenon of sand pipeline, cavity formation under the raft, design defects, design deficiencies, structural anxiety and other subsequent damage were drawn by block-7 Medigadda Barage indiscriminate. The report also found similar problems in other blocks based on geophysical investigations that revealed cavity formation within multiple parts of fire.
The Minister accused the previous government of a mortgage for the future of Telangana by borrowing over 1 Lakh Crore at high interest rates to build a project that failed under their own watch. They claimed to create miracles with Kaleshwaam. However, he designed the project and built them during their regime.
He said that the key barriers – Medigadda, Annaram and Remove – were barely functional, although the BRS government projected the project as a monumental success. “Although these structures were inoperative, telangana achieved record production unpeeed during the vanakalam season with the resistance of our farmers and due to unsuccessful structures,” he said.
He claimed that BRS leaders were introducing the public and said they wanted to deceive farmers again. The anti -allegation that the NDSA report was politically motivated was explained that NDSA was a central agency that includes the highest safety experts in dams. He demanded a public apology from BRS leaders to farmers from Telangana.
The Minister said the Congress Government would thoroughly study the findings of the NDSA and discussed them in detail during the next cabinet meeting. He repeated the commitment of the government to responsibility and said that those who betrayed the farmers of Telangan would be responsible and not punished.
Meanwhile, former Minister and leader BRS G. Jagadish Reddy described the report as another attempt to malignancy of the previous government, because the NDSA presented the report only in the case of Medigaddy/Kaleshware and not another project.
