Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday launched a new slogan ‘NDA (National Democratic Alliance) again and again’ to achieve development in the state.

At a public meeting in Punnapuvaripalem village of Chillakure mandal in Nellore district, he called on people to take a decision: “Never again ax the party”, referring to the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP).

“The ‘Axe Party’ leaders are running rampant alongside gangs involved in marijuana and violence. They made disgusting and insulting remarks about the Home Minister. Even though the Women’s Commission strongly questioned the matter, they continue to defend the comments,” Mr Naidu said, calling the YSRCP leaders “psychos” for speaking rashly.

“We expelled those who spoke this way from the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). But the ‘Axe Party’ is terrorizing everyone and creating an atmosphere of fear, just like the extremists. Every day, with new fake news and a new trick, they are trying to foment conflicts between different castes, religions and regions,” the chief minister said.

The “axe party” turned the state into a haven for ganja. After we came to power, we controlled it through the EAGLE task force. Its leaders do not need Amaravati which is essential for all the people of the state. Unable to tolerate things happening so fast in the capital, they continue their plots against it,” he claimed.

The chief minister said the state was left without capital due to the previous government’s “haphazard decisions”.

Referring to YSRCP president and former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Mr Naidu said, “He created a ruckus with the proposal of three capitals. People from neighboring states mocked each other by asking if AP really had three capitals. After Amaravati was enacted in Parliament as the permanent capital, he started new antics involving Mavigun.”

He accused YSRCP leaders of trying to incite caste conflicts and spreading propaganda through obscene social media posts targeting the family members of Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan.’

“While we are keenly pursuing development, YSRCP leaders are preventing it. This party is committing crimes, shielding criminals and engaging in politics with them. If people give them power, it will again create trouble in the state. It would only take a while to put such people behind bars, but we are not engaged in vindictive politics,” Mr Naidu said.

The Chief Minister said that the only focus of the government is the development of the state. “We have started initiatives like ‘Jaladhara-Jalaharathi (Water Conservation Mission)’ to convert the land into a water reservoir. We are considering plans to link the Godavari and Kaveri rivers to supply water to the downstream states as well,” he said.

Accusing the previous government of pushing industry out of the state, Mr Naidu said, “It takes time to attract industry, but it only takes a moment to drive them away. We managed to bring Hero MotoCorp – which was otherwise meant for Karnataka – to our state and set up motorcycle manufacturing here.”

The foundation stone for the Rayalaseema Steel Plant (RSP) in Kadapa will be laid on July 2, 2026 and production is expected to start in 2028. “My endeavor is to provide development, prosperity and good governance,” he said.
