Rajya Sabha member and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) observer Chintakayala Vijay on Saturday expressed confidence that the alliance of TDP, Jana Sena Party (JSP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will register a massive victory with a possible 100% strike rate in the ensuing municipal and Zilla Parishad elections.

Addressing a media conference, Mr. Vijay said that the three parties will fight the elections with perfect coordination and will follow the directions of their respective high commands in selecting candidates for the Vizianagaram Municipal Corporation, Zilla Parishad Territorial Constituencies (ZPTC) and Mandal Parishad Territorial Constituencies (MPTC).

Mr. Vijay alleged that the YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) was making false allegations against the Chandrababu Naidu government for fear of defeat in the local body elections. He said that former Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s warning to party leaders about the possibility of NDA winning unanimously in several seats reflected the opposition party’s fears about the polls.

Earlier, Mr. Vijay held a first review meeting with the election coordinators of the three parties at the TDP office and discussed the seat-sharing arrangements for the local body elections.

Nellimarla Jana Sena MLA Lokam Madhavi and JSP leaders S. Vishwaksen and Gurana Ayyalu reportedly told Mr. Vijay that the party’s strength has grown at the grassroots level. BJP leaders Vijayananda Reddy, Reddi Pavani and Rajesh Varma said the party had identified candidates in several seats and was seeking more seats in the corporation and ward elections.
