
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has entered into a strategic partnership with Truecaller to launch a nationwide ‘Women’s Digital Safety Awareness Initiative’.
This partnership creates a structured framework for coordinated action to raise awareness of the evolving digital world the risks women face and strengthen avenues for institutional redress, including better access to the NCW 24×7 helpline, Truecaller said in a statement on Wednesday (March 25).

The leading application for Caller ID and blocking spam worldwide, Truecaller has more than 350 million users in India and 450 million worldwide and has taken a wide range of security initiatives to ensure trust and safety in digital communications.
NCW and Truecaller have jointly developed an interactive digital security resource ‘TrueCyberSakhi: A Digital Security Toolkit Built for Her’ as part of the initiative which was formally launched in the national capital on March 21.
“The toolkit is designed to support informed and confident digital participation by equipping women and the wider public with the practical knowledge to navigate online spaces safely,” the statement said.
Among other toolset functions interactive modulesincluding quizzes and self-assessment tools, along with simplified explanations of key digital security issues such as spam, phishing, impersonation, harassment and financial fraud.
“The resource also provides useful guidance, structured best practices and practical dos and don’ts to promote safer communication habits,” the statement said.
The toolkit highlights NCW’s 24/7 helpline, which provides clear guidance on when and how women can seek institutional support and access redress mechanisms in cases of digital harm.
NCW 24×7 helpline number has already been verified by Truecaller Government directory service (GDS). Verification will allow citizens to confidently identify an official helpline, reduce the risk of impersonation or fraud, and ensure timely access to support through a verified government point of contact.

“The National Commission for Women is committed to ensuring that women can participate safely and confidently in digital spaces. This collaboration with Truecaller will allow us to reach women across the country with practical guidance on how to recognize and respond to online threats, while raising awareness of NCW’s 24×7 helpline as a trusted channel of support,” he said. This initiative reaffirms our commitment to address the evolving challenges faced by women in the digital age, she said.
The NCW is an autonomous statutory body that works to protect and promote women’s rights by reviewing safeguards, recommending legal reforms, addressing complaints, promoting awareness and advising the government on policy issues affecting women.

Through this partnership, Truecaller aims to make official support channels more visible, accessible and easy to navigate for women across the country, contributing to a safer and more trusted digital ecosystem, he said.
