The construction of these five administrative towers began in 2014-19, but stopped after the YSR (YSRCP) Congress (YSRCP) came to power. The NDA government has now focused on their construction and cleaned all the legal obstacles that came in their way. These towers were so planned that ministers and all affected would sit in the same building for the public’s comfort.
AMARAVATI AIRPORT
Mr. Narayana said that CRDA also gave permission to build an international airport for 5,000 acres in the capital with a vision for another 50 to 100 years. The airport to such an extent was necessary for investors to easily travel to Amaravati, said the Minister, and at the same time pointed out that Mr. Chandrababa’s decision to build an international airport in Shamshabad was cheated on his criticism, but time was showing them wrong.
Land for an intelligent industry
Furthermore, Mr. Narayana said CRDA cleared the proposed assignment of 2,500 hectares for the intelligent industry in Amaravati, which would give the value of land related to farmers. In addition, the International Sports City was planned and it was decided to expand the rules and regulations applied to the original main plan of 217 km2 of the capital region, to more land, which the government considered to carry out the soil association system (LPS). So far, farmers have applied to give more than 24,000 acres under LPS.
Further funding
As for the external funding of the Amaravati project, Mr. Narayana said that the government hopes to increase 5,000 crore from various banks and credit institutions, except for 15,000 GBP Crore already sanctioned by the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank and 11,000 GBP approved by HUDCO.
Asked if the government was trying to tune in to the Singapore (GOS) for Amaravati development, he responded positively and said that GOS officials who helped the AP government in 2014-199 in the preparation of Amaravati’s main plan and related activities were skeptical because of the bitter experience they had during Regano.
