
During the regular game of Los Angeles Lakers vs Golden State Warriors NBA on Thursday, April 3, Lakers Luka Doncic guarded the Luka Doncic interaction with a member of BTS J-Hope, who was in court. Before the start of the game, Doncic turned to the K-POP star and handed him a box of shoes with “LD” initials.
Inside the box were a few unreleased white basketball shoes with black and neon green accents. The official Instagram account NBA shared a moment. When J-Hope opened the box, Doncic said, “They’re not out yet.” The BTS member replied the silent “Wow”, clearly appreciated the gesture.
Fan reaction
The exchange quickly gained the attention of the NBA fans and BTS Fandoms responded positively to the crossover. Many of them commented on how rare the K-POP artist and NBA players are visible at this level.
One comment read: “Two legends in one frame,” while the other said, “Luka is now officially an army.” Several fans also pointed out that the sneakers were in green, it is known that the color J-Hope likes.
Own jerseys and games
In addition to J-Hope sneakers, he shared a video of his Instagram stories showing the personalized Lakers jersey with his name and number 94, which represents his year of birth. He also published clips from his view of the game.
The warriors defeated the Lakers 123–116 in the court. Doncic, along with teammates LeBron James and Austin Reaves, played a strong game, but came shortly when Stephen Curry led Golden State to win.
This is not the first time a BTS member was linked to the NBA. In 2023, Suga was named the official Ambassador of the NBA and also met Doncic.
