Boston Celtics announced Tuesday 22nd April that the All-Star Forward Jayson Tatum is listed as doubtful for the game 2 of its first rounds against Orlando Magic. The update comes only two days after Tatum suffered genuine wrist injury during the harsh fall of the game 1 Celtics’ Game 1.
Via Celtics PR: “Jayson Tatum (Bruise Bone Bruise Distal Radius) – Doubtful.”
Tatum’s fall came late in the second half after the foul Orlando Guard Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, which was later upgraded to flagrant. Despite the unpleasant landing and visible discomfort, Tatum returned to the game and played injuries.
Celtics takes the lead of 1-0 series but concerns
Celtics opened a series of a strong note and defeated Magic 103-86 in TD Garden. Tatum scored 17 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assistance and 1 block. However, he fought with his shooting, with 8-for-22 from the field and 1-for-8 from the arch.
After the game, the pictures of Tatum’s wrist on the wrist of Tatum raised questions about its availability forward. Espn’s Shams Charania later confirmed that 26 years were diagnosed with bone bone on its true distal radius.
Shaquille O’Neal weighs, it’s basketball play -off
Hall fame NBA Shaquille O’Neal addressed the foul during the show Postgame TNT and offered the situation in the old school:
“SFW, so crazy what?” O’Neal said. “It’s Play -off Basketball. These things happen. You have to succeed if you want to win the title.”
His remarks caused another debate about the office and physicality in Postseason.
Tatum played in every postseason since his debut NBA in 2018, a strip of 114 consecutive play -off performances. If he missed the game 2, it would mean the first time he was postponed during the playoffs in his seven-year career.
Celtics needs tatum for deep run play -off

Without tatum, more pressure drops on Jaylene Brown, Derrick White and Kristaps Porziis to carry offensive loads.
The game 2 is set on Wednesday evening in TD Garden and Celtics remains optimistic that tatum can still be available. The final decision is likely to come after the pregame evaluation.
