
The nine -day Hindu festival dedicated to the goddess Durga celebrates its nine divine forms together as Navadurga. Every day it honors the unique manifestation of the goddess, symbolizing various virtues, forces and aspects of life.

Maa Shailaputri: The daughter of the Himalayas
After the goddess Sati defended during the sacrificial father of Dakshy, Lord Shiva withdrew into deep meditation. In order to re -join Shiva and Shakti and restore the balance, sati was reborn as Parvati, the daughter of King Himavata and Queen Menavati.

MAA BRAHMACHARINI: The goddess of repentance
In her form, Parvati captured serious repentance to win Shiv’s heart. Legends say she survived on the fruit, then left and eventually in the air for thousands of years. Her steadfast meditation moved Shiva, who accepted her as her consort.

Maa Scandamata: Mother of War God
When the demon Tarakasura became invincible, it was prophesied that only Shiva’s son could defeat him. Over the years of repentance, Parvati gave birth to Kartikeya (Shroch), who later killed Tarakasura.
When Maa Scandamata, Parvati rides a lion and carried his son on his lap and presents the mother’s power that nourishes and protects justice.

Maa Katyayani: Slayer Mahishasura
Sage Katyayan made great ascension to seek the blessing of the goddess. She was born as his daughter to fulfill the prayers of the gods when Mahishasura, Buffalo Demon, caused confusion in heaven and earth.
Maa Katyayani, who went to a lion and armed with weapons from the gods, fought with Mahisure for nine nights, finally killed him and renewed the space order.
Maa Kalaratri: Wild Destroyer of Evil
When the demon Raktabija fought with the gods, every drop of his blood that touched the ground created a different demon like him. The goddess assumed the frightening form of Maa Kalaratri with dark skin, disheveled hair and fire in breath.
She drank his blood before she dropped, ending his reign of terror and symbolizing the destruction of ignorance and darkness.
Maa Mahagauri: The goddess of cleanliness
Parvati’s skin has changed years thanks to dust and asceticism. When Lord Shiva bathed her in the sacred ganz, her glow shone like Maa Mahagauri, embodiment of cleanliness, balance and compassion.
It blesses with its devoted peace and removes all their lives.

Maa Siddhidatri: Bestower of MyStical Powers
On the last day, the goddess Durg will appear as Maa Siddhidatri and awards Asht Siddhis (eight supernatural forces) to the gods, sages and devoted. Even Lord Shiva worshiped her and believes she had given him half of her body and created Ardhanarishvar – a union of male and female energies in one form.
