Navratri 2025 DAY 6: On the sixth day of Sharadiya Navratri, or Shashti Tithi, will be observed on 27 September 2025. The nine -day festival, which began 22 September and closed on October 2, is devoted to worshiping the goddess Durgy in her nine forms, known as Navdurgas.
Goddess Katyayani: Warrior Form of Maa Parvati
6th day, devoted people worship the goddess Katyayani, considered one of Maa Parvati’s hardest speeches. The Hinde Scriptures describe that she assumed that this form defeated the demon Mahisuru. The goddess is mounted on a lion and carried swords and lotus, is depicted with four hands – two give blessings through Abhaya and Varada Mudras.
Maa Katyayani is assumed to be blessed with devoted courage, removes obstacles and is also associated with harmony in marriage. It is said that there is a planet Brihaspati.

Rituals and offers
Devices get up early, bathe and prepare space for worship before offering prayers. Traditional rituals include DIYA lighting, offering Shingar objects, wreaths and Vermillion. The usual bhog for Maa Katyayani includes Meetha Paan, seasonal fruit, honey and simple sweets. Devatives also recite the path of Durga Saptashati and perform Havan.

The favorable color for day 6 is gray, symbolizes balance, peace and grounded energy. Wearing this shade when worshiping Maa Katyayanani is considered particularly favorable.
