Principal Secretary (Energy) Navin Mittal has asked the officials concerned to take steps to construct a 28 MW solar power plant at Kakatiya Thermal Power Plant (KTPP) at Chelpur in Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
Mr. Mittal along with Telangana State Power Generation Corporation (TS-Genco) Chairman and Managing Director S. Harish on Tuesday inspected KTPP Unit 1 and Unit 2 and reviewed their functioning.
Later, he visited Tadicherla-I opencast coal block (OCP) at Tadicherla village.
On the grounds of the OCP, he held a review meeting with the concerned officials.
Officials briefed him about the process of acquiring the necessary land for laying a conveyor belt from Tadicherla to KTPP for smooth movement of coal thereby reducing the burden on vehicular traffic, official sources said.
Mr. Mittal suggested that the land acquisition process should be completed expeditiously and remedial measures should be carried out as per due process and in a transparent manner.
