As part of the Nava Keralam Citizen Response Programme, which seeks to gather public ideas and opinions on the development of the state, door-to-door visits were launched in Kottayam on Thursday.
The data collection officially began at the residence of former Supreme Court Justice KT Thomas in Kanjikuzhy, Kottayam, where District Collector Chetan Kumar Meena presented the Chief Minister’s letter and pamphlet.
In Changanassery Legislative Assembly Constituency, members of the Action Committee started interacting with Changanassery Archbishop Mar Thomas Tharayil. MLA Job Maichel and District Collector jointly presented the pamphlet and letter to the Archbishop.
In Vaikom constituency, data collection was started at the residence of playback singer Vaikom Vijayalakshmi.
Trained volunteers carry out house visits under the coordination of the District Committee chaired by the Collector. At the Assembly Constituency level, training and field work is overseen by Commissioners.
In addition to private residences, task force members will also work with the public in workplaces, agricultural fields, housing complexes, educational and healthcare facilities, commercial facilities, public spaces and other sectors. Along with ideas for the future development of the state, the program will also gather suggestions for improving ongoing development and welfare initiatives.
