Nature conservation is not only the obligation of several, but collective responsibility, said Shankar Vanikyal, registrar of Maharshi Valmiki University, Raichur, while on Thursday he was engaged in gathering during the world environment in Krishnatunga Auditorium.
Vanikyal chaired the event on Thursday, which was organized jointly by the University Departments of Life and the Forest Department of Karnataka, stressed that rising global temperature, irregular climate patterns and alarming the demise of wild animals and bird species endanger the structure of life on Earth.
“If we can’t keep the environment that keeps us, it won’t keep us in return,” he said.
He criticized the uncontrolled efforts for material comfort at the cost of nature and called on everyone to prefer protection against uncontrolled development. He expressed concerns about the growing use of plastic and noted that today’s youth often feels embarrassing to wear jute bags, which accidentally perceived them as old -fashioned, leading to greater relying on harmful materials such as plastic.
He strongly advocated personal discipline in the field of environmental protection. “Before buying any product, we have to ask ourselves if it damages the environment. The pure and joyful atmosphere is born from a clean environment,” he said.
On this occasion, K. Venkatesh, representative of the university registrar, emphasized the connection between a healthy environment and a healthy life. “Every form of life, including animals and birds, depends on nature, air and water. Prevention of plastic pollution and environmental protection is the duty we all share,” he said when addressing the student community.
On the occasion of this occasion, seedlings were planted on the university campus. The participants committed themselves to raise and grow seedlings. Members of the Faculty of Life Sciences distributed seedlings to dignitaries as a symbol of nature to nature.
