In the main initiative to support reading and literacy, PN Panicker Foundation will arrange around one lakh “vaayanasadhas” across the country within the 30th National Reading Day celebrations.
The year -round year -round campaign, which begins 19 June, is trying to revive the culture of reading among people of all ages and backgrounds by reading communities.
The Vaayanasadh, or collective reading, will take place in public and private premises from schools and universities to libraries, bus stops, markets and other points for communities.
The initiative draws inspiration from the late PN Panicker, often referred to as the father of the library movement and literacy in Kerala. His legacy continues to create reading campaigns throughout the country.
“The aim of these sessions is to encourage reading books and newspapers and promoting discussions about the importance of reading as customs and tools to strengthen the position.
This year’s efforts are a significant expansion of the activities of the Foundation with an emphasis on inclusivity and community participation.
National Reading Day, which was observed every year on June 19 in memory of the Panicker’s death anniversary, has grown from keeping Keraly to the national movement. The week of reading day is celebrated as a reading week.
With the scope and scope of this year’s Foundation’s initiative, it hopes to inspire the national revolution of reading that strengthens literacy, critical thinking and cultural awareness.
The Vaayanasadh inauguration will take place at the official opening of the celebrations of the Reading Day by the main Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the Tagore Theater 19 June.
