The Department of Basic and Applied Sciences of GM University celebrated National Science Day with the theme ‘Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat’ at GM Hallamma Auditorium in Davanagere on Friday.
Raghuraj J., Scientist of Taralabal Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Davangere, attended the program as the Chief Guest.
Vice-Chancellor SR Shankapal, presiding over the event, emphasized the importance of promoting scientific research, innovation and scientific temperament among students.
Dean of the Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences Santosh BM spoke on the occasion. As part of the celebrations, competitions called “Frames of Knowledge” and “Science through a Lens” were organized to encourage creativity and scientific expression of students, and the winners were awarded.
