
After 12 years in the role of Spinner Nathan Lyon gave up the prestigious position of Songmaster for the Australian male cricket team. Lyon made a decision Australian victory over western India In the first test of the series of three matches in Barbados on 27 June.

Lyon, who took three goals in the victory at Barbados, repeated his intention to continue at least in another World Championship cycle. The 37-year-old off-Spinner said his dream of winning the test series in India remains necessary and has its monuments firmly on another Australian tour on the subcontinent.
Australia is scheduled to visit India on a series of five tests at the beginning of 2027 before going to England on ashes. Lyon said he would take things one match at a time while working to be in the Ashes series Home Ashes at the end of this year.
“I always said I wanted to win in India. I want to win in England,” Lyon added.
“We have this opportunity in a few years, but we also have to perform a test test and make sure we do everything here in West India.”
“Then we have a massive summer with ashes at home. But another World Cup final is definitely on my radar.”
Lyon took 556 goals in 138 tests and remains the Australian first spinner in one of the most respected bowling attacks in the world cricket.
