Narayan Guru’s vision forms the core of Kerala’s social reformation: Chief Minister VD Satheesan

Chief Minister VD Satheesan is inaugurating a public conference on the death anniversary of Sree Narayana Guru at Sivagiri Madhom in Varkala on Monday.

Every Keralite should embrace the teachings and vision of Sree Narayana Guru and consider them as part of their heritage, Chief Minister VD Satheesan said on Monday.

Mr. Satheesan was speaking at a public conference organized by Sivagiri Madhom on the Guru’s death anniversary. “If today we can say that Keralam is secular, all the credit for that goes to Narayana Guru. He was the one who sowed the seeds for it,” the Chief Minister said.

The Guru’s vision forms the core of Keralam’s progressive thinking and social reform. The thoughts he planted in people’s minds transcend time and cannot be erased by anyone. In the age of darkness, the Guru held the hand of Keralites and taught them to walk not backward but forward, Mr. Satheesan said.

The Chief Minister said that his government’s actions will always reflect the Guru’s teachings.

President Sivagiri Madhom Swami Sathchidananda presided. Agriculture Minister T. Siddique was among those present.
