Narasaraopet bypass by March 2028, land acquisition complete, says Palnadu Collector Kritika Shukla

NH-167-A Narasaraopet bypass is expected to be completed by March 2028, Palnadu District Collector Kritika Shukla said, completing the land acquisition process.

Speaking to The Hindu after completing one year in office, Ms. Shukla said land acquisition awards have been completed in all 14 villages. Almost 90% of the land has been handed over to the National Highways Authority of India, paving the way for tenders.

The project remained on hold for three years due to litigation and opposition from affected farmers. Its implementation is expected to improve connectivity between Amaravati and Narasaraopet, reduce travel time and ease traffic congestion in Narasaraopet town.

Ms. Shukla said Palnadu proposed ‘Abhyudaym’ or ‘One Family, One Entrepreneur’ to promote economic empowerment by identifying livelihood clusters in 28 mandals and providing loans. Proposals have been prepared for 30 processing and manufacturing units covering red chillies, red gram, dairy products, curry leaves, turmeric, maize, mushroom cultivation, jute bags and sheep based industries to support the goals of Swarnandhra-2047.

She said 52,872 complaints were received through the public grievance redressal platform and financial clinic and 43,648 were resolved. In December, a special disability complaints forum was launched, held on the fourth Saturday of the month.

Under Swarnagrama-Aarogya Darsini, 20.41 million people of 526 villages were included in health screening and nutrition awareness. She added that the skills center helped 550 people secure employment, while 4,226 young people benefited from job melas in one year.

From January to August 2026, 1,65,274 Pattadar passbooks were distributed in 170 villages. Mega Credit Outreach has provided ₹3,216 crore in loans to 1.03 lakh beneficiaries. Amaravati CHC secured fifth position under NQAS with 96.17% while 13,104 adolescent girls were vaccinated against HPV. Public satisfaction has reached 71.55%, which ranks fifth in the state.
