In order to increase the convenience of commuters and reduce the overload on the ticket counter, Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) introduced Metro Station for QR QR tickets. These self -service kiosky, which are designed to release paper tickets built into QR codes, aims to streamline the process of selling tickets for a daily metro users.
This step monitors the successful launch of the pilot start of similar machines at MG Road stations and Cubbon Park on the purple line. Now two such compact green -colored machines have been installed on ByAppanahalli. According to the BMRCL official, the entire process of purchasing the ticket for the QR code takes less than a minute, offering a quick alternative to the conventional token system.
“These kiosky are introduced to help commute to bypassing long queues at manual tickets of tickets,” the clerk said. “They are user -friendly, multilingual and intended for self -operative. However, helping the first users or those who need help is located nearby by the supplier.”
Each kiosk prints a paper ticket containing a QR code that can be scanned at the gate of automatic fare collection (AFC). “The former pilot at MG Road and Cubbon Park stations recorded the deployment of six and eight machines. Their usefulness was particularly evident during extensive events such as IPL matches when the passenger score preferred to use sales machines over long queues,” he added.
On average, about 70 to 80 commuting, who use these machines daily at pilot stations. Anusha Rao, a regular commuting metro, welcomed the development and said, “These QR machines are incredibly comfortable. I don’t have to wait in a long line in top hours, especially when I’m in a hurry. The process is fast and the interface is easy to understand.
Another commuting, Ramesh K., who works in Indianagar, said, “This is much needed upgrade. I used a QR automatic during the top hours whenever I took the metro that soon avoided losing time.”
BMRCL official said in the near future planning to introduce similar sales machines at other high stations.
