Ballari City MLA Nara Bharath Reddy, who launched a new clinic of Namma on Carimar Colony in Ballari on Thursday, emphasized its importance in providing quality primary health services to the city population, especially the economically weaker section.
Mr. Reddy said that the purpose of the Namma Clinic Initiative initiative is to offer quality medical services to people in their neighborhood.
“People should not have to travel long distances for basic health care. These clinics will provide free and accessible health care to local residents, especially those of low income environment,” he said.
Mr. Reddy also announced that a well -equipped hospital with an investment of 5 GBP Crore will soon be built in the colony.
The clinic was established as part of the joint initiative of the District Administration, Zilla Panchayat, the District Health and Family Social Department and Ballari City Corporation.
The district health officer and care for the family of Yalla Ramesh Babu said that 12 Namma clinics were sanctioned for the Ballari district in 2023-24.
For 2024-25, another eight, six for Ballari City, one for Sirugupp and one for Kampli, which brought a total number of 20 clinics in the district.
“Each clinic will serve a population of 10,000 to 20,000 and will be served by a doctor, nurse, laboratory technician and group D staff,” he explained.
Together with the Colony Karimarman, clinics were inaugurated in the Srirampura Colony and APMC Yard on the same day.
Public reaction
Chandrakala, Resident of Karimeman Colony, said: “We had to visit health centers far for even minor health problems. To have this clinic in our locality is a great relief. Thank you for this initiative.”
Other inhabitants, Chandini, noted: “This building has remained unused for many days. We are glad to serve a useful purpose now.”
