When schools reopened this week after a summer holiday, children have something new to school in schools.
In an initiative focused on schoolchildren, the KERALY Drug Drug Department launches a number of names that would take home a report against drug abuse.
The department publishes colorful and attractive names that will contain popular cartoon characters and cinemas/sports stars, along with news about the dangers of drug abuse and how children can maintain a drug threat at bay.
The aim is to inform children from a very young age that they should continue from drugs and how harmful drugs can be for health, said Secretary of Health Veen George in a statement on Saturday. The name of the slip will be distributed to all schools by the Department of General Education.
Antibiotic literacy
This is not the first time that the drug control department uses gliding names to create awareness of socially relevant topics. Previously, she chose slides to educate children about antimicrobial resistance, as part of a campaign to support antibiotic literacy among citizens. These names slipped, which carry messages to AMR, were released in the district of Alapuzha and were very popular among children.
Mrs. George said that the drug control department is taking strict steps to limit drug abuse and that it has recently referred to the Minister of Health of the Union to intervene to limit drug sales through online pharmacies.
