
Hossain Shanto decided to withdraw from his position as Bangladesh’s test captain, after their defeat of the series in Sri Lanka on Saturday 28th June. He proposed that his decision came as a decision that is to improve the team. He stressed his belief that he had no different captains for different formats in the national team. Shanto said it wasn’t a reasonable decision. But he intends to support anything that the Bangladesh cricket council decides.
“I don’t want to continue the test format (as a captain),” Shanto said after the fourth day of the second test.
“That’s not personal. I decided to improve the team,” Shanto said. “I think it will help the team. I was part of the dressing room for the last few teams.
While Shanto had an unforgettable series with the bat, he stressed how the decisions he made was not emotional and was made for the team in the long run. The left -hand dough completed a series of two matches with 300 runs in his name. “I would like no one to feel that this decision is emotional, or that I am disappointed with something. I want to clarify it. This is to improve the team,” he said.
Recently Shanto resigned from his role Captain Odi, jokeH Mehidy Hasan Miraz was appointed captain for 50-over side. It remains to be seen to take over the role of the test captain.
Bangladesh still has to announce who will take over the leading role for the moment. Over the years it has come for many years, but the party still has to establish itself as good candidates.
