Home Hossain Shanto was not a happy man despite a massive victory in Bangladesh in the second test against Zimbabwe Craig Ervine. On Wednesday, April 30, the tigers threw visitors to the shift and 106 runs on the Bir Sreshtho Lieutenant Matiur Rahman in the cottage.
Mehida Hasan Miraz raised five goals and also scored 104 when Bangladesh finished the two-match series 1-1. Shadman Islam and Taijul Islam also scored a hundred and took six goals. But Shanto said the home team lacked a golden chance of winning the series.
“I’m not really happy. If you look at the whole series, we were supposed to play a better cricket. We didn’t do well at the first test. Although we came back, it’s a series we were supposed to win,” Shanto told reporters after the match.
Bangladesh lost the opening test in Sylhet with three goals In Sylhet before performing a return in a chattogram. Shanto said that his team’s dough must learn how to convert the beginning to a big score.
“In the first test we played a bad cricket, so it was important to bounce. We won in Pakistan and Western India before, and that means we have this ability. We just have to play according to our potential,” Shanto said.
“As a captain I do not want this type of result board. If Shadman could score 200, I could hit 100, or Mushfiqur Rahim scored 150, I would be happier than everybody scored 40s.
Shanto had a decent series with a bat in his hand after scoring 123 runs out of three shifts on average 41 with the highest score of 60.
