Reiterating that the TDP and its allies were grateful to the people for giving them a landslide mandate in last year’s general elections, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu said the government was committed to serving the poor and had made the Super Six promises a “super hit” despite severe restrictions. Winning 164 seats increased the coalition government’s focus on equal responsibility for development and he said the priority was taking responsibility for development and the state.
Participating in Prajala Sevalo – Praja Vedika after distributing social security pensions under NTR Bharosa scheme in Unguturu Mandal on Monday, Mr. Naidu said that no state including Telangana, Karnataka or Gujarat could match Andhra Pradesh in implementing social security schemes.
He said the government had spent ₹50,763 crore on pensions in the last 18 months, benefiting 63 million people, of whom 59 per cent were women.
He claimed that the previous YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) government had increased the pensions by only ₹250 per month compared to the ₹4,000 hike implemented by the current NDA government.
The Chief Minister said that the government is doing everything in its power to solve the farmers’ problems. He said the transparent procurement of paddy fish and transfer of payments to farmers’ bank accounts within six hours reflected the government’s commitment to their welfare. He urged farmers to switch to demand-driven crops and adopt integrated farming methods to ensure better yields, adding that they must keep pace with evolving global trends.
Mr. Naidu said investments worth over ₹ 13 crore are flowing into Andhra Pradesh as the government has created a business-friendly environment.
He said good governance was the hallmark of the NDA government, which planned the development of three regions, including the Visakhapatnam Economic Region, and focused on completing the Polavaram project by 2027.
He noted that the Telangana government had mobilized ₹1,350 crore by selling just 10 acres of land and attributed the surge in land values there to the development achieved by successive governments in the past, especially the TDP government. He emphasized that for the sake of stability, the NDA needs to remain in power for 15 to 20 years and reiterated its commitment to maintain law and order.
