Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu continued the tradition of presenting a ‘silk vastram’ on behalf of the state government to the Sri Kodandarama temple in Vontimitta before the annual ‘Sita Rama Kalyanotsavam’.
Accompanied by his wife Nara Bhuvaneswari, Mr. Naidu hands over the vastram to the temple priests and officials.
On this occasion, Tirumala Sri Venkateswara Temple presented a gold ‘Mukha Patti’, a gift weighing 1 kg and a silver pot weighing nearly 2 kg, to Kodandarama Temple as a wedding gift. It is a tradition that Tirumala Temple sends donations to TTD affiliated temples during the annual Brahmotsavam.
Earlier, Mr. Naidu was given a traditional welcome by temple priests led by TTD Chairman BR Naidu, Managing Director M. Ravichandra and Joint Managing Director V. Veerabrahmam, among others.
After having darshan of the presiding deity, the chief minister was presented with a ‘sesha vastram’ while Vedic scholars offered him ‘Vedasirvachanam’ (Vedic blessings).
