YSRCP East Godavari Chelluboina district president Venu Gopala Krishna has accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of not showing any sincerity in addressing farmers’ problems, saying he continues to consider agriculture a burden even in his fourth term.
At the party office in Tadepalli on Wednesday, the former minister told the media, “Despite more than 60% of the state’s population depending on agriculture, the coalition government has completely neglected the sector. When farmers are in need, Mr. Naidu is abroad. His son and HRD minister N. Lokesh watches cricket matches,” Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan-Kalyan reportedly only takes pictures of farmers.
During the tenure of YSRCP, he said agriculture was seen as the mission of prosperity. Through the Rythu Bharosa Kendras, farmers received assistance from seed to sale, MSP was ensured and ₹ 13,500 was provided annually as investment support. “The coalition government has canceled free crop insurance and is manipulating e-Crop data,” he said.
