In significant development on Thursday on Thursday, the main Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu assured the workers of Kovurova cooperative sugar factory that they would receive arrears 28 Crores. This decision benefits 466 workers and their families. In addition, the main minister ordered officials to transfer the 124-Acquid soil to the Andhra Pradesh Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (APIIC) factory for the establishment of new industries.
During the collector conference collector SPSR Nellore District collector O. Anand, while explaining CM on comprehensive development and future district plans, he brought the waiting fees for factory workers from Kovur. Pongura Narayan, Minister for the Municipal Administration and Development of Cities (Maud), also sought the attention of CM of this issue. CM then ordered Dr. N. Yuvaraj, secretary, industrial and trading department to pay waiting fees and hand over the soil of the apiic.
Nellore MP Vemireddy Prabhakar Reddy and his wife Kovur Mla Vemireddy Prasanthi Reddy thanked a cm named factory workers. Mrs. Prasanthi, who raised the problem several times in the assembly, said: “The promise that came during the 2024 campaign during the 2024 elections to get their arrears, if elected, was fulfilled within nine months of receiving power.”
The Kovurova Sugar Sugar Factory was founded in 1979 in the Puhiredypalem in the Kovur election district under the cooperative sector Nellore. It worked well for three decades and provided direct and indirect employment for many, including permanent income to thousands of sugar cane farmers. The economic decline led to its closure in 2013, so workers left without salaries and in direct conditions. Many of them died and others remain in bed.
