Nagpur woman complains of rape, forced conversion; two arrested

After a video accusing a 24-year-old married woman of rape, extortion and extortion went viral, the Nagpur police filed a first information report and arrested two accused.
The case was filed after the survivor said the accused took her to some place in Madhya Pradesh and tried to convert and marry her, said police officer Rahul Tasare of Sonegaon station where the case was registered on Tuesday.
According to the police, a case was registered against three persons on June 12 under sections relating to rape, extortion, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Maharashtra Anti-Black Magic Act.
“Two of the accused have been arrested and a search is on for the third accused in Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh. We have also collected digital evidence from mobile phones and are analyzing the videos,” Deputy Commissioner of Police Rushikesh Singareddy said, adding that there was a possibility of more survivors coming forward as the incident was a year old.
The two arrested are: Ayyaj Taj Madare (26) and Aamin Sheikh (30), while Hazrat Maulana is absconding.
Police said the woman had alleged in her statement that one of the accused, whom she knew from school, had sedated her and made “indecent videos”. The survivor alleged that the accused used the video to blackmail her. The accused extorted approximately 3 million crowns from her, the woman said.
