On June 17, Pushkaraj Sabharwal stood with tearful eyes and put his hands outside his home in Mumbai. He paid his last honor to his son captain Sumeet Sabharwal. A seasoned pilot died in the crash of the tragic Air India AI-171 in Ahmedabad 12 June.
Now, an open letter shared by a veteran pilot by Captain Shaktim Lumba has become a viral. The writer of an open letter, whose name is detained, addressed the chairman of Air India N Chandrasecaran’s alleged absence during the funeral of Captain Sumeet Sabharwal.
The open letter pointed out that Chandrasecaran was in Mumbai on the same day, but no member of the Air India or Tata Sons was attended.
“No shoulder is leaning. No condolences have been granted personally. One wonders: Is it” new India “that the Tata group wants to lead?” said an open letter ..
According to him, Sabharwal was not only an employee, but a respected commander and part of the Tata family. Lumba remembered how the former chairman of Air India Ashwani Lohani once personally supported the junior employee’s family during the tragedy.
“When Mumbai died a relatively junior flight sending years ago, Lohani did not send a card or floral arrangement. He appeared – and went on and offered a mourning wife. No cameras. No LinkedIn’s contributions.
Captain Lumba asked if the leaders like JRD Tata or Ratan Tata would bend the leaders such as JRD Tata or Ratan Tata. According to a veteran pilot, leadership means difficult times.
“The message is loud and clear: you are just a name in the list. The code in the system. Replaceable. Today, Air India’s employees feel abandoned. Not fate, not about circumstances, but in your absence. We have seen everything in your absence,” the open letter said.
Social media users reflected sentiment shared in an open letter.
“Tata has lost all their credibility and respect after graduating from Ratan Tata. Smutný’s demise of a large company,” one user wrote.
Another wrote: “Air India must provide his father full -time care. He’s older and now, because his life would be more difficult without a son. Now he’s very lonely.”
“After Ratan Tata it is not the same group of Tata. It wouldn’t be surprised if Adani and Ambani did it, but seeing it from Tata is daunting,” another user wrote.
Did anyone from Air India participate in a funeral?
According to Air India, more representatives of the company attended the funeral of Captain Sabharwal.
“At its funeral today our head HR and communication Tata Group, head and communication head Tata Group joined their family, friends and colleagues to give up respect, share their pain and grief, and offered moral support on behalf of the whole Air India and Tata Group,” Air India wrote on X.
