
The mounted personnel of the Karnataka State Reserve Police (KSRP), Mysuru City, brought laurels to the state by securing the top honors at the 44th All India Equestrian Championship and Mounted Police Duty Meet 2025-26.
The championship is being held from February 15 to 27 at the Border Security Force Academy in Tekanpur, Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, with teams representing 15 states and the Central Armed Police Forces participating.
Head Constable Suresh Malali, attached to KSRP Mounted Company, Mysuru City, bagged second position (Silver Medal) in Show Jumping III. degrees and third place (bronze medal) in the Six Bar Jumping competition on the opening day of the competition.
Suresh, who joined the police department in 2012 and has 14 years of service, has been actively participating in national-level equestrian events for the past nine years. Riding ‘King Power’, he performed impressively against strong national rivals.
In the Quadrille, the Karnataka State Police Mounted Team of SD Sasanur, Chandra, Mahesh and Suresh Malali secured the fourth position. In the Park Jumping Preliminary (Normal) category, MR Sandesh and KT Jayaprakash also secured the fourth position and received consolation certificates.
With the championship still underway, the Karnataka team is expected to add a medal in the remaining events, according to the Mysuru city police.
Mysuru City Police Commissioner Seema Latkar and senior officers of the cavalry company congratulated the personnel for their success at the national level.
