Bharath Hospital and Oncology (BHIO) will hold a free women’s oncology clinic along with free HPV vaccination at its day care clinic in Kuvempunagar on Wednesday (July 15).

The program will provide free professional consultations, cancer risk assessment, screening guidance and counseling for women. The device can be used by those who have suspicious symptoms, have a family history of cancer or are seeking expert advice on breast, cervical and ovarian cancer. Oncologists will also provide treatment guidelines and refer patients for additional diagnostic tests whenever needed, according to the news release.

Chaitra Katakol, head of radiation oncology at BHIO, emphasized the importance of preventive care: “Early diagnosis significantly improves cancer outcomes, while HPV vaccination is a proven preventive measure against cervical cancer. Many women delay seeking medical help due to fear or lack of information. We hope that with this initiative we will encourage women to undergo early screening, understand their risk factors and take preventive measures.”

The clinic and vaccination drive will be held at the BHIO Day Care Clinic in Kuvempunagar from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. Women are asked to pre-register and carry previous medical records if available. For registration and details contact 9012112190 or 0821-2300600/2300606, release added.
