
Myanmar Junta claimed that on Thursday (July 24, 2025), she claimed that after a year -long battle the city of gold mining was captured by Thabeikkyin and identified her second key city in a week.
With control over Thabeikkyin and NOWHKIO, Junta holds two sides of the town of Mogok – the famous Center of the Myanmar Ruby Mining Industry.
The Civil War consumed Myanmar from the coup to 2021 a civilian government, while the military fighting with a countless number of pro -democratic guerrillas and ethnic armed organizations.
This year, China and Russia supported in Junta stuck their backs on the northern front, and the state media said its soldiers on Wednesday “fully repeated” the city of Thabeikkyin.
One resident, Ye Dinn, said that people fled from the fight for refuge in the forest or around schools and monasteries.
“People have nothing to eat and no place to escape,” said a 65 -year -old man.
Thabeikkyin, located about 100 kilometers north of the second most populous city of Mandalay, is a lucrative hive of gold mining sitting on the banks of the Irrawaddy River, which is struggling with Myanmar.
The Global New Light of Myanmar said the Anti-Coup’s alliance attacked Thabeikky’s “stunning force” last August, but his contrafensions after 17 main battles again returned the city.
“We are really afraid,” he said, and he spoke on condition of anonymity.
“Nowhere is safe. We all look for a safe place, but people have no idea where they should go and hide.”
Junta said last Thursday that she re -captured the northeastern city of NOWHKIO, on another key highway towards Mandalay City, and thrust the ally of Rebel back to the edges of the country.
At the beginning of this week, Guerrillas said they had an attacked Junta fleet from five ships who sailed after Irrawaddy north of Mandalay – another apparent sign of the renewed regional offensive of the army.
