
Akash Deep’s rapid pitch dedicated his win in the 2nd Test Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy against Enlgand in Birmingham to his older sister and revealed that she had fought cancer in the last two months. In an emotional chat after a match with Akash broadcast, he said she wanted to smile on her face and reminded her of her fighting every time he had the ball in his hand.
Akash Deep played a key role in the Indian victory of 336-Run, when visitors threw England and handed them the biggest defeat in the era of Boveball at home. “I haven’t told anyone. My older sister has suffered from cancer in the last two months. Now she’s stable, it’s okay. I think she’ll be the happiest (I’ll see my performance). I want to give her this match. I wanted to see a smile on her face,” Akash said.
“That’s for you. Whenever I held the ball in my hand, your face was in my mind. I want to see happiness in my face. We are all with you,” he said, sending a message to his sister.
