Rink explained that attacks on monkeys were for him and his brothers growing up in Aligar, Uttar Pradesh. But one incident was particularly scary. During the rainy rainy season, his brother and friend are heading to the field when a monkey appeared from behind. “It was raining and we carried an umbrella. Suddenly someone shouted,” The monkey came, “and attacked me from behind,” Rink recalled. “It attached me and bite me again and again. He described panic and pain of his family trying to help. “There were not many people around it. My brother was throwing stones at it, but he wouldn’t let go. My blood flowed and my bones were visible. We were running at the clinic, but we didn’t know if I would survive.”

His family managed to get urgent medical care. “During someone, they contacted someone and said the monkey was bitten by the boy. They dressed my wounds and fortunately I became fine after that,” he said. From such traumatic experience to part of the Indian team for the Asia Cup, Rink Singha is a story of resistance and determination.
