The death of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain may have been a “murder” rather than a suicide, researchers have found after a new review of evidence decades after the Smells Like Teen Spirit singer’s death.
Cobain died on April 5, 1994, at the age of 27, of what authorities described as a self-inflicted gunshot wound with a Remington Model 11 20-gauge shotgun, his death being ruled a suicide at the time.
But now, according to a report by The Daily Mail, an unofficial team of private-sector forensic scientists has released a peer-reviewed document that challenges earlier findings and claims that Cobain was confronted by one or more assailants, making his death appear to be a suicide.
