Rrajesh Rajendra Khedekar, 36 – who allegedly killed his wife Gauri Anil Sambekar, 32 years old, stuffed her body inside the trunk, left him in rented accommodation, and fled from the scene to his native Pune, Mahashtra – allegedly tried to end his life (March 27) in the evening.
It is treated in a hospital in Satara, Mahari and detained by the Municipal Police Bengaluru. It is said to be out of danger.
Rrakesh, a project manager with a multinational company in Bengalur, took a house for rent a month ago. On the evening of March 27, he called the landlord and his sister -in -law and told them that Gauri had ended her life and cut the call after which the police were warned. They discovered a body with stab wounds stuffed in a trunk in the bathroom of the apartment around 18:00
Soon the police watched their cell phone in the bomb and the team immediately went to the city. Meanwhile, the suspect moved to the Pune area. The local police, which were alerted, organized a search party and eventually traced him to the limits of the Shirwal police station in Satara. The local police found him unconscious. He was immediately moved to a nearby hospital and administered treatment.
When he later regained consciousness, the team of the Municipal Police spoke to him and allegedly confessed to the crime. Reportedly he tried to end his life before the police reach him.
The marital dispute ends with tragedy
His father Rajendra spoke to Mediaperonsons in the Mahari, said Rrakesh called him, confessed to his crime and said he would also end his life. “I asked him not to finish his life, and invited him to return home and said we were going to the police station and it was with the case,” he said, adding that before his son arrived home, he reported the local police about the case.
He said Rchessh and Gauri were the first cousins, but negotiated with marriage disagreements and frequent fighting. He never thought it would lead to such a tragedy, he said.
“He is under stress and is considered a patient. He was detained. Once he is released, we arrest him and bring him to Bengalur for another probe. Only then can we question him in detail and the motive of the murder and his sequence of events,” Sarah Fathima, deputy commissioner (southeast division), Bendalur.
Meanwhile, the police sources said that the couple had a marital dispute and a quarrel left from a hand during which he assumed that Rrakesh had killed his wife in a bout of rage. It is assumed that the murder occurred on the night of March 25th. Later he tried to move his body out of the house to be destroyed in the trunk, but failed, forced him to leave and flee, police suspect.
