On Sunday, the municipal police arrested 54 -year -old usual Pedar Ganja, against which several cases of narcotics and the Act on Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) were registered.
The defendant identified as Srinivas aka Ganja Sheen was busy team of the Police Team Crime (CCB) team, which also confiscated a total of 14 kg and 150 g Ganja worth about 4.5 GBP Lakh.
Arrests and seizures were carried out on the basis of credible information that illegal Ganja was transported in a private vehicle from Bengalur towards Mysur 7. September. A team of CCB officers and employees captured the vehicle near the hospital’s intersection in Narasimharaja Police Station Limits of Mysur City.
The defendant Srinivas, the inhabitants of the village of Pushpapura in Hanur Taluk in the Chamarajanagar district, which was taken into custody, has a total of 12 cases registered against it under the NDP Act at various police stations, including four in Benglaur, six in Cape and each in Begin Polion in Chamarajanagar and Mudagall Vishapatanna.
Of the 12 cases registered against it, eight cases are at different stages of court proceedings, and the courts issue unique orders against it.
The investigation revealed that he was running and hiding in Odish, and the police had started hunting in the last 45 days, during which the teams were sent not only to Odish, but also to Andhra Pradesh, Keral and Tamil Nad to secure him.
The police statement said that Srinivas aka Ganja Sheen, who supplied Ganja (cannabis), was from the Mysur in the cliff due to continuous anti-arotic operations by the city police.
During the investigation, there was also a light that two sons of Srinivas identified as Suresh and Nandeesh also registered four cases under the NDPS Act.
The Commissioner of the Municipal Police Seema Latkar, who praised the team of police staff for the arrest of Srinivas, said that operations on the monitoring of narcotic drugs in Mysuru would be intensified and strict legal measures would be taken against the accused without any indulgence.
