Indian Union Muslim League (IUML) senior leader MK Muneer has expressed hope that the party’s nominees from Kozhikode district will get a ministerial berth in the United Democratic Front (UDF) government to take oath in Kerala in the coming days.
He told the media here on Wednesday (May 13) that the party’s high-powered committee discussed the names to be proposed as ministers. “IUML Panakkad state president Syed Sadikali Shihab Thangal was authorized to take the final call on the matter. Six MLAs are elected from Kozhikode. We expect the district to get the recognition it deserves,” he said.
Mr. Muneer claimed that all the IUML candidates have found acceptance among the voters, which was evident in the high majority of votes they managed to get in the elections. Six elected MLAs from Kozhikode district were felicitated at a function organized by the IUML district committee.
