
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a “yellow” warning on Monday and predicted slight precipitation in several Maharashtra districts, including bombay, from 19 to 23 May.
Yellow warning was released for five days for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Dhule. It is also valid for other Maharashtra districts for a period from one day to four days.
IMD estimates “thunderstorms accompanied by flash, light to medium collision and gusty winds (40-50 km / h) in isolated places.”
In addition, the weather forecast agency released a “orange” warning for some districts in Konkan, Marathwada, North Maharashtra and Western Maharashtra, including the Ghat region.
In the Ghat section in the PUNE district, an orange warning was issued for all five days. For other districts in the western mahara, Konkan, Marathwada and North Mahashtra, orange alerts were issued for a period from one to four days.
IMD predicted “heavy to very heavy rainfall, flash storms and gusty winds (50-60 km / h) in isolated sites” for areas under orange warning.
In particular, some parts of Maharashtra have been witnessed before the Monsoon showers along with lightning and thunderstorms since last week.
Monsoon will arrive early in India
Meanwhile, the southwestern monsoon is expected to arrive in India earlier than usual. According to IMD, Keraly reaches the next four to five days.
The weather department had previously predicted that the monsoon would start above Kerala until 27 May. Southwest monsoon usually hits Kerala 1 June. If the monsoon arrives in Kerala by May 27, it will be the earliest beginning since 2009, when it started on May 23, according to IMD data.
