
Muharram 2025:Muharram considers sadness to be the death of Hazrat imam Hussain, the grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, considered the second most sacred month after Ramadan, Muharram.

Muharram 2025 Date: When is Ashura?
Muharram – also known as Muharram -ul -Haram – is the first month in the Hijri calendar, which refers to the beginning of the New Year for Muslims around the world.
The period of sadness will reach its zenite with Ashura, a day observed on the 10th Muharram, which also falls 6 July this year.
This year the crescent month was observed on June 26 and Muharram began on 27 June. Therefore, Ashura will be observed on July 6.
Muharram meaning
Muharram has a deep religious significance for both the Sunnis Muslims and the Shiite Muslims. While Sunnis observes the day of fasting, they offer special prayers and recite the Qur’an, Shia Muslims mourn over the martyrdom of Imam Hussain through ceremonial processions and symbolic work and funeral Taziyas – representation of his tomb.
