MSC Irina, known as the largest container ship in the world operated by the Swiss Transport container, the Mediterranean shipping company (MSC), reached the external anchoring of the Vishinjam International Port on Tuesday evening. This is the first time that MSC Irina, the MSC Irina, a number of six identical ultra -large vessels (ULCV), sails to the coast of the South Asian port.
On Saturday or Sunday, the boat is expected, because six other vessels are in the queue in the anchorage in the harbor in front of Irina. Irina class ships have a capacity of 24 346 Teus (equivalent units twenty feet). The vessel could carry more than 24,300 standard 20-foot shipping containers stacked up to 22 decks.
MSC Irina, a pile ship measuring 399.99 m in length and 61.3 mv beams, is the third ship in the Irina class, which is to call in the harbor. Previously, MSC Türkiye and MSC Michel Cappellini, belonging to the same class, called to the port. MSC Irina is expected to release around 4,000 container movements.
2,20 lakh teus
After the test after the trial operation, approximately 7.2 Teus containers processed and the subsequent operations began in the port. In the current financial year, the port according to the port offices managed to manage around 2.20 lakh containers.
