The legendary Berras Batter Adam Gilchrist wants Mrs. Dhoni to call time for the Indian Premier League career. Gilchrist, who spoke about Cricbuzz, advised Mrs. Dhoni to leave after IPL 2025.
Dhoni, 43 years, currently captain on the side of Chennai Super Kings in the absence of injured Routuraj Gaikwad, who broke the forearm at the beginning of the season. Dhoni was unable to dig CSK from the bottom of the table, in what shows them as a horror season.
Gilchrist, who spoke before the CSK match against the Kings of Pandjab, said Dhoni was an icon of IPL and the world cricket and had nothing to do to anyone.

“I want to enjoy it, as I did as a child when I was at school. When I lived in a colony, 16 hours were sports time, so we could play cricket more often than not. But if the weather didn’t allow it, we played football.
He repeated the same in Raj Shamani, who was released in April 2025, where Dhoni said they were taking things a year at his age. He said he would play IPL 2026 if his body felt good just before the season.
