Jagadish Shettar, a deputy, warned officials of strict action if they delayed the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes or negotiated carelessly.
Mr Shettar said that the projects of the trade union government must be carried out in a coordinated manner at the district level. Officials should be special care projects. They will face the action if they act carelessly, he said.
On Friday, Friday 2025-26, he spoke at the Quarterly Coordination and Monitoring Committee for Coordination of Development and Monitoring (DISHA).
“We found that several projects are not implemented correctly in the district, even after timely release of funds from the center. Development of lakes and parks has not been started despite the release of funds. Most of the works are not completed within the same time limit and development is limited,” he said.
He asked City Corporation officials to take more responsibility for city development projects. “Because of their irresponsibility, many developmental works remained in the way,” he said.
“The action plan should be developed to develop streets and parks in the city and the offers should be convened as soon as possible and the process should be completed immediately,” Shettar said.
He emphasized the provision of land and houses under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana to homeless families and asked to prefer the cleanliness of the city under the mission of Swachh Bharat. “The roads should be cleaned and public toilets should be built in the necessary places,” he said.
There are still no toilets in the backward talics of the district. Officials should identify such villages and create awareness among people and continue to build toilets, said Mr. Shettar
Priyanka Jarkiholi, a MP Chikkodi, said the problem of anemia in women increased to 7.4%in the region. She asked the medical department officials to take the necessary steps.
Panchayat Rahul Shinde, CEO of Zilla, said the toilets have already been built for the comfort of houses that do not have room for building toilets. For many villages in the Chikkodi area, a permanent drinking water project was launched and the works will be completed in the coming days, he said.
Another representative of the Commissioner Vijayakumar Hokeri said that dependent persons of families whose lives were lost due to rain damage was provided with a compensation of 5 GBP Lakh.
