Mysuru MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar released a set of pamphlets for the benefit of farmers in Kodagu district under the National Mission for Natural Farming (NMNF).
The brochures, which include a farmer’s study guide, organic farming journal, frequently asked questions (FAQ) brochure on organic farming and information material on schemes available through the Ministry of Agriculture, were released at the MP’s office in Mysore. The books will be distributed to 3,125 farmers in Kodagu district.
The ministry said the NMNF scheme was being implemented in Kodagu district with 60% financial assistance from the Center and 40% contribution from the state government.
Under the programme, 50 cluster resource workers (one for every two gram panchayats) and 17 block resource workers will guide and train farmers practicing natural farming across the district.
Joint Director of Agriculture, Kodagu District, BS Chandrashekhar and Deputy Director of Agriculture DS Somashekhar were present.
