
The 21 -year -old man from Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, was arrested by the wing of cyber crime to the Police Hyderabad for the production and sale of false counterfeit products by copying original brands.
The accused, identified as Vishesh Ahuja, operated a website that imitated established brands and deceived unsuspecting consumers.
The case came to light when Hyderabad residents filed a complaint on November 22, 2024 and announced that the counterfeit version of the “rabbit bleed of hair oil” – originally made by Punarjeevani PVT LTD – was sold online.
The fraudulent product, masked under the same brand, not only damaged the company’s reputation, but also pose a potential health risk to consumers.
The investigation revealed that Ahuja cooperated in cooperation with two other individuals, Chauhan Niral Babubhai and Neel Nikulbhai, both from Surrat, Gujarat. The duo has already been detained on March 4, 2025 and transferred to judicial custody. They produced and distributed counterfeit products when using online platforms for Hawk products.
The investigation also revealed a larger network involving suspicious escapes associated with the SHOP101 platform, identified as Prasad and Alisha. In addition, two individuals associated with India PVT Limited (Roposo CLUs), Sushanth Singh and Pratik Kamat are involved in fraud, helping marketing and selling false goods. The products were sold via Shop101 and other online platforms of unsuspecting consumer.
The police confiscated five mobile phones, four bank deposits, eight control books and sixteen debit cards during the operation. Further investigations are underway.
