Mysuru-Kodaga MP Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar on Saturday inspected the ongoing work on the construction of a grader by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) at Manipal Hospital Junction, also known as Kempegowda Circle.
NHAI Project Director, Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) engineers and forest department officials were present for the inspection.
The key intersection is at the junction of the Outer Ring Road with the Bengaluru-Mysuru Expressway and witnesses high traffic density.
In a statement here, Mr. Yaduveer said the project will help remove the traffic bottleneck at this junction. “Furthermore, this project will also improve the entry and exit system on the Mysuru-Bengaluru road to provide greater convenience to all road users.”
He said he directed the NHAI officials to complete the ongoing works as soon as possible and ensure that the works do not cause any inconvenience to the public.
“Since there is heavy traffic on weekends, I will talk to traffic police officials about deploying additional personnel,” he said.
Mr. Yaduveer said he has also asked the authorities to ensure that the work is carried out with the highest quality standards and that the surrounding area is kept clean.
It may be mentioned here that the approval of the project was granted on January 19 this year.
