MP distributes tricycles to 42 Divyangs in Hubballi

Rajya Sabha MP M. Nagaraj distributed battery powered tricycles worth ₹16 lakh to 42 Divyangs and differently abled people at Union Minister Pralhad Joshi’s office in Hubballi on Sunday.
The distribution of the devices comes under the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through Pradhan Mantri Divyang Kendra – Vayoshri Kendra (PMD-VK) Hubballi and Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO).
Prof. Nagaraj said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had launched the Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana to ensure that even the most vulnerable members of society get government benefits.
Mr. Pralhad Joshi is introducing this and other schemes with great interest, he added.
MLA Mahesh Tenginkai said these battery powered tricycles, walkers and other assistive devices will help the disabled and senior citizens to lead a dignified and independent life without being dependent on anyone.
Hubballi-Dharwad Mayor Durgamma Bijwad said that she is proud that 7,000 people have been helped so far in Dharwad Lok Sabha constituency at a cost of ₹4 crore and such programs for people will continue in the coming days.
MLC Lingaraj Patil said that various basic aids and equipment including walkers were given to senior citizens and disabled people during the programme.
