In the middle of the Gen-Z protest, the former main judge of Nepal, Sushil Karki, who is ready to lead the interim government of the country after the resignation of Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli, kindly reflected in her long-term ties with India.
Sushila Karki, who described herself as an “Indian girlfriend”, said that her years at BHU in Varanasi, where she completed a master’s degree in political science in 1975, left a permanent impression.
“I am very impressed by Indian leaders … Indian friends treat me as a sister,” said CNN-News18, adding, “The main modi KO Namascar Hoon. I have a good impression of modi.”

71-year-old lawyer in an interview with CNN-News18 remembered her time to study at Banaras Hindu University (BHU) at the age of 70.
Sushila Karki created a history after becoming the first chief judge of Nepal, who worked in the role from July 2016 to June 2017. In January 2009 she was appointed ad-hoc judge of the Supreme Court and became a permanent judge in 2010.
Karki, selected by the protest movement of the non-Gen-Z protest to lead temporary administration, expressed gratitude for the faith that the youth in it, whose demonstration eventually led to Oli’s fall. She said she felt humiliated by their confidence and responsibility, which was now entrusted to her, according to the report.

As reported by news18, she remembered her university years, she said, “I studied in BHU … I have many friends in India. I still remember my BHU teachers. The India’s relationship with India is very good. India has helped Nepal a lot.
Nepal, who was wedged between India and China, struggled with political and economic instability because the protests led to the abolition of the monarchy in 2008.
“It is very condemnable to kill and hurt hundreds without dealing with the real requirements of youth. This is contrary to the values of Nepalese society loving peace,” said King Gyanendra, the last of Nepal’s monarchs.
In the X contribution, Prime Minister Narendra Modi referred to Nepalese citizens to maintain peace and order, while Beijing also said that he hoped that social order and national stability would be restored as soon as possible.
Meanwhile, the mayor of Kathmandu Metropolitan City Balendra Shah “Balen” expressed his support for the proposal of the appointment of Karki behind the head of the Provisional Government.
On Wednesday, Shah addressed the younger generation and the wider Nepalese public and stated that the country was entering a “unprecedented” moment in its history and urging citizens to deal with maturity and responsibility.

“I fully support your proposal to keep this temporary/election government former main judge Sushila Karki. I would like to honestly respect your understanding, wisdom and unity. It shows how mature you are,” Shah wrote.
The protests began on September 8, 2025 in Kathmandu and other capitals, including Pokhara, Butwal and Birgunj, after the government has banned the main platforms of social media, quoted tax revenues and cyber security concerns.
In the X Army post, she said that the prohibition on the prohibition of walking would remain in force until Thursday morning.
“Any demonstrations, vandalism, looting, arson and attacks on individuals and property in the name of protest will be considered crimes and security staff will be taken,” the post said.

So far, 30 people and more than 500 have been killed in clashes with security forces. Curfew was stored in several cities, including Kathmandu, for control of the situation. The protesters demanded the termination of “institutionalized corruption and protectionism” in administration. They want the government to be more responsible and transparent in its decision -making processes.
