Motorist arrested for assaulting TGSRTC driver, conductor at Tolichowki
A motorist was arrested for assaulting a Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) bus driver and conductor following an altercation in Tolichowki on Tuesday.
According to officials, the motorist, identified as Zeeshan, got into an argument with TGSRTC driver Mohammed Azam and conductor P. Lakshmaiah on the road while driving at Tolichowki near Galaxy bus stand. He allegedly blocked the bus with his car and verbally abused the couple and later physically assaulted them, resulting in Mr Azam’s injuries. The accused also allegedly damaged the ticket machine.
Based on Mr. Azam’s complaint, the Tolichowki police registered a First Information Report (FIR) against Mr. Zeeshan under relevant sections of the BNS and Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act and arrested him. He was produced before a local court and remanded in judicial custody.
TGSRTC Vice-Chairman and Managing Director Y. Nagi Reddy said in a statement that those obstructing civil servants from performing their duties will not be tolerated and legal action will be initiated against them.
