Three members of a family reportedly took their lives on the outskirts of Charlapalli railway station on Saturday (January 31, 2026).
The deceased have been identified as Penaty Vijaya (38), a software employee, and her two children, Chetana Reddy (18) and Vishal Reddy (17), both students. The family lived in Harithavanam Colony in Changicherla, Boduppal.
The incident was reported around 12.40 pm on the MMTS track near kilometer 207/2, when the conductor of a passing goods train alerted the railway authorities about three persons falling on the tracks.
The police visited the place and conducted a preliminary investigation. The bodies were taken to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination. Following the complainant T. Jyothi, Deputy Station Master, the case was booked by the Railway Protection Force, Secunderabad. Further investigation is underway to find out the reason for this extreme step.
