The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) 2026 was conducted smoothly across Visakhapatnam on Sunday, with officials reporting high participation and no disruptions.
Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), the exam was held in one shift from 2 pm to 5 pm in accordance with the national schedule. Those interested should report between 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m
The exam was held in 18 centers in the city. Out of 8,112 registered candidates, 7,987 turned up, which means the turnout was around 98.45%.
According to officials, all the centers were adequately equipped with measures including CCTV surveillance, drinking water facilities, layered security checks and signal jammers. Biometric verification and checks were carried out at entry points in accordance with national guidelines aimed at ensuring transparency and preventing unfair practices.
Instructions regarding prohibited items and the prescribed dress code were communicated through signs in the centers and emphasized during entry checks. Candidates were reported to have complied with the prescribed standards.
Staff from central institutions including Kendriya Vidyalayas, Andhra University and Central Tribal University were deployed as invigilators, observers, deputy superintendents and superintendents. The examination process was coordinated through a District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) with EVLN City Coordinators Vamsi Krishna, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya Steel Plant and Kamal Jeet, Principal Kendriya Vidyalaya, Waltair overseeing the coordination related to the examinations. District officials oversaw logistics and crowd management.
